“My name is Phuc An. I’ve been attending the Art class at Thang Long School for 1 year. I enjoy painting landscapes because I can freely create beautiful scenes in my mind and turn them into colourful paintings.
However, after the field trip to Sa Dec last October, I realised that drawing what I see with my own eyes is even more enjoyable. I had the chance to leave the city life for a moment and arrive a new place I had never been to before, with friends and my teacher.
In Sa Đéc, we visited tourist destinations, explored the nature, carefully observed numerous coconut trees, small boats, and unfamiliar flowers to use them as materials in our artwork. This was also my first time seeing a real coconut tree.”
This year, the trip for An and his friends in the Art class took place in Dong Thap Province, providing them the time together experiencing the serene mood and ambiance of the peaceful village. Simultaneously, under their teacher’s guidance, they also learnt how to create a painting’s layout, blend colours, and step by step, complete their own landscape illustrations.
