This year, for the first time, some students from Thang Long School had the chance to participate in a swimming course. After six weeks of dedicated learning, all the kids can now confidently perform basic swimming techniques, which could be crucial in emergency situations.
At the end of the course, Minh Lâm’s mother shared her emotional thoughts:
“Whenever our family went to the beach, Lâm only played in the sand and dared not enter the water, afraid of it. However, miracle happened after just five lessons. When he told me he could swim, I couldn’t believe it, so I went to the pool to see. To my astonishment, Lâm jumped into the 1.8m deep water without any aids, and swam to the other side of the pool.”
This activity at Thang Long School isn’t just about equipping essential survival skills; it also provides children with the opportunity to explore and interact with the world around them. For kids like Minh Lam, this experience also marks a turning point in their psychological development, helping them conquer other fears as well.
